After the Rio Olympics, Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzō Abe, dressed up as the famous Nintendo video game character, Mario! This display at Rio set a style to how Japan will celebrate their modern culture in 2020.

Japan Olympic Committee vjump_crossover_by_elord87-d65gu9hhave chosen a few ambassadors for their 2020 Olympics. One of the ambassadors is the most famous and popular anime heroes ever. Some fans will say this particular ambassador’s popularity level is “Over 9000!”… kidding aside, the ambassador is Goku from the Dragon Ball series!!!!

Other ambassadors are some of the most iconic anime favourites such as Naruto,  Luffy from One Piece, Shin Chan, Pretty Cure, Astroboy, and Sailor Moon. However, it is shocking that a small electric mouse wasn’t in the picture, and I am talking about the cute Pikachu.

This announcement shows that the Japan Olympic Committee wants young audiences to watch the 2020 Olympics.
